Wound up in Wexford

Electrical maintenance

Today, we appear to back in winter - grey, windy weather, definitely not a day for gardening.

We started the day with exercises.  Then after I had showered, I played the flute for while, whilst W made some bread and then did some more work in his workshop.

After lunch, we set to dealing with the lights in the office.  These were "up and down" lights, but the cord that regulated the up and down movement had broken, and both were hanging really low.  We had never used the up and down facility, so we decided to just shorten the cord and rehang them.  But nothing is a simple as you think it will be.  Getting the covers off the ceiling attachments was impossible - we ended up having to break them both slightly to get them off.  All done rather high - it had to be me who did the wiring, as W struggles with heights, and also gets dizzy when looking up - not a good combination on the top of a step ladder!  You don't get an impression of how high the room is from this photo, but I was on the top step of a high step ladder - if you look at the linked photo, you can see that the ceiling is vaulted.

It's "great" this locdown lark - every day we make some progress with something in the house or garden!
