ALKI II

Lately, it seems that I have been seeing a lot of custom vanity license plates. Perhaps part of the reason is - that I look for them. One reader asked yesterday, if everyone has a custom license plate. The answer is NO - it is an optional thing, and costs extra money, but a LOT of folks like to express themselves. Some times referred to as "vanity" plates :)

Today, a rather bittersweet story, the elderly woman with the ALKIII license plate told me that her late husband had been in the real estate business for years, and his license plate read ALKII, as in Alki I, and thus her reason for wanting an Alki II license plate.

A little background, Alki is both the place name for a West Seattle neighborhood, and also a prominent beach in the area.
