Sth Island Pied Oystercatcher

Pooba has pointed out that this bird is given several names in several places - I'm not sure which one is commonly accepted or which one is correct! But here they all are:

Haematopus ostralegus finschi
Or
Haematopus ostralegus/Haematopus finschi

Didn't have time today to watch the birds for an action shot which is what I much prefer, and where the action was the light was all wrong - too many dark shadows on the birds.

This bird was standing alone and looked like it was posing so it had to be my shot for the day.
