View from Apedale

We went for a longer walk today. We walked from our home all the way to Apedale Community Country Park and back. It was around 6 miles. We set off early to avoid as many folks as possible. This is the highest point which I've photographed a few times before. This is a commemorative pit wheel and truck.

We'd usually drive here and then do a walk but that's not an option at the moment. There are extensive views from here. You can see the monument at Trentham Gardens, Mow Cop Castle folly, the Wedgewood Monument at Talke. We could even see The Roaches in the distance today. All these places are now out of reach......
