Rabbie......

Back blip

Robert Burns is celebrated all over the world. This being our last full day of our break, it was decided to have a bit of a Burns Supper, not the whole hog, but a few speeches, songs, Toast to the Haggis, etc. tonight as we would all be travelling tomorrow. It was really good, and I loved the way they had dressed the haggis, a bit of fun really.

Today our dancer friends were still keen to walk, so after the morning country dance session, we did a little more, took the cars to the Bowcastle car park and walked into Callander, then after a wee coffee, walked over the old bridge on the Forth, up towards Ben Gullipen, and cut down in a circle back to the car park. They were thrilled to see some roe deer, one performing beautifully for us by jumping very high over some obstructions, and we were high enough to have some lovely views, in perticular of Ben Ledi in the distance.

Finished with a wee refreshment at the Lade Inn, and there was another group of walkers in from Falkirk, so we had a great time with them, and a wee song too.

Back to the hotel for a quick change, and our Burns Nicht, and lots of dancing of course. There was an English bus party sharing our hotel, and they were very keen to have photographs of all our men with kilts and tartan trews. They would have loved to dance with us, but unfortunately the hall was at capacity, they had another little dance floor and had to dance there. But we interchanged a bit so everyone was happy, and they were a lovely group.
