Isolation

An abandoned apartment building just blocks from the new.
A destitude RV (someone's home).
The promise of Spring on green street trees.
An empty road with a bicycle lane.
Riding along Front Street heading home after a ride in delicate rain.
This burgeoning American city.
All of us isolated in a viral fear.
Beneath a concrete overpass near downtown a huddle of three homeless men. One of them inserts a needle into the arm of another.
At home, a warm shower, a loaf of fresh bread, a friend on the phone.
How to hold these differences.
These lives we have, how we have them, and how others have not.
