A Tender Touch

It's been an interesting Australia Day - my first one in a different country for starters! I become quite patriotic on Oz day - last year I ran a 3km race and then headed over to a friends place for a BBQ and triple J hottest 100 pool party.

This year I had a sleep in, headed up to see the bears, got some fabulous shots, watched the Action Bear group arrive on bicycles and motorbikes from Hanoi (they were doing an awareness campaign for us 'Bike for the Bears'), then headed back to my room for a few beers and to stream the remaining triple J countdown online - i ended up having a bit of a virtual party with a friend online, chatting and discussing music all afternoon. All in all, not a bad day! The power cut out a couple of minutes after number one was announced! Perfect timing!

So many choices for blipping today - bears, bikers, beer... hmm but the bears won in the end :) This is Taurus and Maggie. I just love how sweet he was being with her on the platform. She was trying to snooze and he wanted her to play so he was gently pawing at her, nipping her face and at one point even seemed to give her a kiss on the cheek! When he finally realised she wasn't 'in the mood' he settled down next to her and went to sleep too :).
