Iridescence

Spent an hour this morning sorting out the order for our long-waited delivery of groceries, due tomorrow. About half the items on the original order are now unavailable, so it needed considerable rejigging. Still no unscented bars of soap, though.

Nice chat with Jacqui after lunch, through the open living-room window. She had alerted us to her presence by standing on the pavement below and blowing a whistle! Poor Fletch barked his head off for a while when he saw us - he couldn't understand why he wasn't allowed in for a tickle!

Exercise was an afternoon walk up to the Common, armed with nuts and seeds for the squirrels and birds. Rewarded by an acrobatic display by two red squirrels chasing each other around the treetops. On the way back, we passed these three beautiful ducks near the smallholding. The one at the front in the Blip has beautiful iridescent feathers (extra).

Clapping for the NHS and key workers again this evening - good to hear so many others doing the same. But they need PPE and tests so much more than clapping, and government promises are beginning to seem very lame...

Lockdown, day 10
