Compost Pellet

CyclopsJnr's Grandma has sent him a bunch of little growers kits from M&S.  We planted a load of them today.

The most immediately rewarding part of this process is rehydrating the compressed compost disc, which starts about the diameter of a 50p and a centimetre thick, but when you  add water it grows vertically into a 6cm tall cylinder (still the same diameter) which you then break up and use to pot the seeds.

Watching it suck up all the water on the plate and grow to 6 times its original size is strangely fascinating!
