Farmaticus

Working.

Despite the lock down the farming work must still continue. Our boys are fantastic and still happy to get on with their daily tasks. Precautions have been put in place so that they have no contact with anyone and are provided with all the necessary hand sanitisers etc. Our paper work no longer gets done in the house but is all forwarded by phone. Thank goodness for technology.

They have been not only busy keeping the mushroom farm going but they have also had quite a lot of field work to do to including ploughing and muck spreading.

The grass is just beginning to grow but it has been a very late spring here. Miss H who has her sheep here was very late being able to turn them out due to the wet. Thank goodness that it has one dried up.

The past few days the Mr Tbays have been very busy harrowing and rolling all our fields. Our ground is heavy clay and there is a very limited window when it is suitable to do the ground work. Too wet and you cant get on the land and too dry and the clay sets like concrete!

Isolation continues. Miss Tbay can once again mix with us tomorrow after her two weeks isolation. That will be nice. We are very lucky that we can isolate as a group so we do have company.

This evening Mrs H and Miss H came round for a supper party. I made a delicious ham, chicken and leek pie followed by sticky toffee pudding. We really enjoyed it and it gave Mr and Mrs Tbay Jnr an evening on their own. See extra for pie!
