A few firsts

I didn't catch a picture of my first wheatear on the moors; the front view of what I think was my first comma looks moor like Dracula than a butterfly; and I didn't do too well on this guy either but it's made me chuckle:

My first queen wasp of the year.  And she was nearly as big as Little Dog!

It's been a lovely day - with a dunnock singing, meadow pipits falling out of the sky, buzzards cruising and a sparrowhawk on the look out.  The sky was beautifully feathered, the moors were fairly quiet and, another first, I didn't need my jacket on.

We've enjoyed some gardening this afternoon and a bit of admiring it too (as was the field mouse).
