Wesselton

Today's garden flower is a clematis - 'macropetala Wesselton'. This is my earliest flowering clematis. I bought it in an end of season half price sale early last year and planted it in a rather poor spot but it has rewarded me with dozens of these beautiful bell-shaped double flowers in varying shades of blue. Very warm weather today has brought me Orange Tip, Speckled Wood and Large White butterflies, bringing my species count for the season to nine. Not bad for a small garden in the first week of April.
