Preening

Guinea fowl are fastidious birds and spend a lot of time cleaning their feathers. A railing of the sheepyards is a favourite place for the preening sessions.
Extra:  It's a long time since I've seen a N.Z. native praying mantis in the garden and I was thrilled to see one on the Queen Elizabeth rose today.  The South African praying mantis arrived in N.Z. some years ago and has almost decimated the native population. It has a larger wedge shaped head and lacks the blue spots on the inside of its forelegs.
