La vida de Annie

Lockdown day 24.
The news is becoming a health hazard in itself. I only watch the daily briefing now, if only for a game of bullshit bingo. Anyone who's sat through endless office meetings will probably have used a version of that to stay awake and appear to be taking notes rather than ticking a list (or adding to it). My own list of words and phrases used many times is as follows:-

Robust
Defeat
Invisible enemy
Unprecidented
At war
Combat
Battling
Social distancing
National effort
Haven't an exact figure
Stick with the science
Keep ramping up
No test is better than a bad test
Absolutely determined
Duty of care
The truth is
Heroic
Mission critical
Going forward
Absolutely clear/crystal clear/absolutely crystal clear/very very clear
Firm commitment
Tighten up the measures
Second wave
Flatten the curve
Working round the clock
Deliver key services
Move mountains
High degree of confidence
Play your part
Stay at home
Taking our foot of the pedal
Save the NHS.

Now out of fashion:-

Flatten the sombrero
Operation last gasp.

Another game apart from bullshit bingo is trying to form a speech using as many of these as possible. I believe this is the exact strategy used by the goverment speakers.

Oh, and here's a pic of Minnie2 wondering what I'm up to.
