Living with disappointment

We are most certainly not the only ones to feel disappointed this weekend when planned activities are cancelled. We were looking forward to having a family gathering here, something that rarely happens and can only happen with a lot of organisation. They were all going to be travelling today and we would have been ready. It's not going to happen.

But we will live with the disappointment, as will everyone else in the same situation. And we will spend the time here on our own, enjoy the good weather and look to the future, however uncertain that may be.

My blip is of an old ammunition box which Gordon was given by a neighbour - a long time ago and probably three houses ago. He has kept it for storage and today converted it into a planter, something he has thought of doing for a while.

We are not sure of the wording on the box, but he is pretty certain it was used for storing shells, as the marks can be seen on the base. And its given weight seems to be in line with that. A reminder perhaps that we are not the only ones to have been in the middle of a crisis, a little scared and wondering what the future will bring. For now though we will live in the present and make the most of the good weather.
