I was exceeding bored with the selection at the Stornoway co-op; I'm not bored with the supermarkets of Erbil, which are vast and interestingly full of arabic cheeses and Mystery Turkish Soups, and rather expensive. Tonight was beef sambousek from Erbil and peynirli börek from Turkey, with a salad of cucumber, mujaddale curd cheese and parsley, topped with Turkish yoghurt and sumac. A mountain dew and a Danone mahalabia pudding (rosewater and pistachio) for afters.
