A garden favourite

With RSPB Leighton Moss closed and our regular visits not possible, blipping birds has been difficult in the past few weeks. Today I did manage to catch this male Bullfinch on the feeder. Not quite so sharp as it was through the window, but it will do.

My extra is a plant which last year I used as the main blip. Some blippers did not like its name which is Canadian Blood Root. Sanguinaria canadensis. But it is doing well and I thought it was worth another outing.
Its name comes from the red colour of its sap. It grows in Eastern North America from Nova Scotia down to Florida. But it seems happy in Arnside.
