Thoughtfulness

I got the text yesterday: "Would you like to have a cuppa together? I could bring my cuppa with me to your front garden. We could keep our households separate by not sharing cups/biscuits and staying 2m apart — close enough to talk, but not about the neighbours."

Naturally, I said yes right away when Alison floated this idea. She's the daughter of my dear next-door neighbour Susan, and I've remained friends with her and her siblings over the years. As well as 'a cuppa', she arrived with yummy ice creams before moving on to tea for her and coffee for me and biscuits and lots and lots of chat. We spent a delightful couple of hours together in the glorious sunshine.
