What stars!!!!

This morning after breakfast we took a short walk to our local Tesco Express with a list of a few essentials. Hub waited on the forecourt whilst I braved it! The staff had it all under control, queue outside of three, 2 metres apart, one in one out, most people seemed to have popped in for one or two bits, but my basket was full plus a newspaper tucked under one arm and two bottles of slimline tonic in the other hand, as I struggled to the till! A very nice young lady, the other side of a screen served me, both of us wearing gloves. At least I wont need to go out again for a few days now.

All our lives are different just now, most people are doing their utmost to follow the guidelines, look out for one another, be kind, neighbourly .......and today we were on the receiving end of just that!!

My blip today shows the gift that our neighbours across the road delivered to us this afternoon. A full blown Afternoon Tea, with a bottle Fizz!!

We heard someone call our names, went to our side path to see who it was, Julia & her daughter Erin, with this Stand & Bottle on the path in front of them. They just said they had brought us a treat, we were almost speechless and so touched by their thoughtfulness.

As we were chatting, from a distance obviously, the girls said they had been bored and wondered what they could do with their time and this was the end result. They also told us they had taken a similar one nextdoor to our quiz neighbours aswell.......aren't people kind!

We skipped lunch and enjoyed our treat in the summerhouse around 2.30......which is when I took this photo. There was so much food, no way we could eat it in one go! The rest went into the fridge for later, so yet again we haven't had our planned bbq..... maybe tomorrow lol!

We sat in the sun for a good couple of hours it was so lovely today.... hub chatted to both middle son & daughter on his phone. I got a text off an old friend to tell me that sadly his mum had passed away, she was in hospital and then had contracted C-19.....she is the first person I've know personally.....RIP Jean :-( I also had a message off another friend, we've just reconnected after probably 30 years, which is great, lots to catch up on!

We decided to go for a quick walk this evening around the little lake on our estate.....didn't see hardly anyone until we turned on to our Drive, and bumped into two neighbours, we had a quick chat then headed home by which time it was 8pm.

I made a quick sandwich and we finished off the rest of our Afternoon Tea and Fizz whilst watching BGT.......which had us in tears!!

Despite the current lockdown, today has been a day we will remember for all the good things!
