Day 19 – Union Canal

I blipped the canal on early March, before all the shutdown and it’s quite different now. It was bright this morning then the sun really came out this afternoon and it was pleasantly mild with a fresh breeze. I went up to the canal and walked along to Craiglockhart before heading over towards Merchiston and then back home. What was really noticeable today was just how clear the air was; usually after so long under an area of high pressure and no rain it gets quite hazy. The general stay at home seems to really be making a difference; it would be nice if after the lockdown stops that people will travel less and the air remains clean. There were no contrails as air travel is so much less; we won’t learn will we?
