A street surprise

NaPoWriMo2020, Day 11.

HOLY SATURDAY

A floral tribute.
Who or what is honored here
in the empty street?

Bouquets made with care
drinking from bags of water
hang around this tree.

On the other side
blue beads neatly strung and hung
for a rosary.

Who was it that hung
on a tree and breathed His last
all to set us free?

We no longer see
Him whose noble sacrifice
brings us liberty.

In a tomb He’s laid
but death cannot hold Him there.
See Him risen free!

(The rosary is in the extra.)

Happy Easter!
