Easter 2020.

I'm sure Easter 2020 will be remembered as the most unusual one for the rest of our lives. Today I have attended several 'virtual' church services, including one from the Archbishop of Canterbury's kitchen! Of course it's not what we're used to but the ingenuity displayed by so many churches is incredible and will, I'm sure, play a very useful part in church life in the future too. Obviously we were also not able to gather as a family as we would like to have done but with the wonders of FaceTime we still all spoke and saw each other. For many years, Mum has used this glass ring to display Spring flowers at the Easter table. Together, this morning, Mum and I preserved that tradition. There is something rather lovely about the background of the old, worn family table on which so many Easters have been shared and the beauty of the new, Spring flowers, their subtle fragrance and the signs of new life and hope that they represent. So much this year is different but the message of Easter is as relevant as it ever has been. "Christ is risen - he is risen indeed!"  Happy Easter.
