Common Brimstone

I used my Seek app to “ identify “ this butterfly . Even though I knew it was a Brimstone I wanted to see how accurate the app was. Impressive as despite the distance ( social ?) so as not to disturb it and it having its wings folded, it was quickly identified as a Common Brimstone. Apparently it is thought that the brimstone is the species that literally put the 'butter' into 'butterfly'. The sulphur-yellow colour of the male brimstone was not only the reason for its own name but also that of the whole family of 'butter-flies'.
