Petunia propagation

Not much left to do in allotments so spent the day in garden. Transplanted and potted up 30 tomato plants (7 different varieties), another tray of begonias a tray of cosmos and took 24 cuttings from trailing petunia plants. Rapidly running out of greenhouse space with still seedlings of French marigolds and goditia to transplant.
The process of increasing ones stock of petunias by cutting is really quite simple and a great way to save in the cost of a fantastic summer display in containers and hanging baskets:
Prepare seedling compost/vermiculite mix;
Fill seed tray cells will mix and water till it is saturated;
Remove shoots from mother plant (cuttings);
Remove lower leaves and any lower shoots from cuttings;
Insert cuttings into rooting powder;
Insert cuttings into cells of seed tray at least to depth of 1 cm; and
Cover with propagators lid and if possible place in heated propagator avoiding direct sunshine.
Nothing could be simpler and you should have good sized plants within a month.
