A chip off the old block!

This little blue button, along with pink and white ones, used to live on a hand-knitted cardigan that my darling mother knitted for me when I was about six or seven.  Sadly most of the red paint has come off the top of the little mushrooms but I remember them so well and loved them, which is probably why Mum never threw them out!

My father used to smoke a pipe in those days and this is one of his  tobacco tins where Mum kept loose buttons.  Her 'main' sewing tin used to have Player's "No Name" tobacco in it and I keep them both in case of emergencies even though I must be one of the world's worst sewers.  Mr Sk is much better than me!

Many thanks MaryElizaR for hosting the TIny Tuesday challenge.
