Drink Time

Today I’ve switched it up from a bird feeding to a bird drinking.
We always have a plastic pan out beneath our feeders filled with fresh clean water.
It’s a popular spot and most every bird stops for a drink at some point in the day, especially during the hot summer.

Here we have a Mockingbird taking his turn at the trough.

Did you know: The pigeon is one of the few birds that is able to drink using suction. Most birds drink by dipping their beaks in water then tilting their heads back and utilizing gravity to do the rest. Just as this Mockingbird is doing here.
