Now, as I see it......

With a rye smile.....

I decided to make some bread in the breadmaker. When I rooted around in the back of the cupboard I found a bag of rye flour; a little out of date but a close inspection didn't reveal anything with legs so I decided to use it. The breadmaker book had a recipe for a seeded rye loaf so I did that using up some sesame, sunflower and poppy seeds we had in. When it came out, W was a little less than impressed. It hadn't risen, and looked a bit like a house brick. But I was confident. Rye bread doesn't rise, so I fully expected a dense loaf. So I tried it. And it was lovely! On my recommendation W tried it too and was soon back for a second slice.

I don't think it's going to last long.
