Winter light

"Surely everyone is aware of the divine pleasures which attend a wimtry fireside; candles at four o'clock, warm hearthrugs, tea, a fair tea-maker, shutters closed, curtains flowing in ample draperies to the floor, whilst the wind and rain are raging audibly without. --Thomas de Quincey, Confessions of an English Opium Eater

We were out driving and lamenting the new reality of Minnesota winters due to climate change today. It suddenly started snowing heavily, enveloping the world in what we used to think of as our winter landscape. We are enjoying it by making tea, lighting early candles, and sitting near a big picture window.
