Wild fennel

Muggy and grey today but the rain forecast is only just arriving. Grandies' duty and she is really into her books, plus independent trolley pushing. We hope to be able to order her a few new books and toys soon. There's a great toy library in Takaka but that's closed at the moment.
We went for a walk along the Long Plain Road afterwards, lots of wild fennel and ochre earth. If you look across the field you can see the road we're now living in. Other excitements spotted en route included kiwi fruit actually growing and a humongous tree.- I asked Himself to nip across the road for some scale.
More feijoas have been donated! We're are certainly getting enough vitamin C.
Other news, we are all hoping that lockdown level 4 might be reduced to level 3 next week as numbers of virus sufferers are falling. That would be wonderful as it means you can expand your bubble a little ie see another family group, visit local beaches and bush, and order more stuff online such as timber and paint (Joe), artist materials (Himself), toys (,Esme), notebooks and writing pad (me) and I'm sure Simone has urgent requirements too.
Have a happy weekend
