The Train Must Get Through.

An evening walk before the Big Clap for the NHS, resulted in me walking the Dearham Bridge Road down to Dearham Bridge. This is the bridge over the River Ellen, halfway between Crosby and the village of Dearham. There is a railway bridge on the road too, prior to me reaching it I spotted a train heading for Maryport  (and then onwards to Barrow in Furness), having started its Journey at Carlisle.

The Spoil heap is from Rosegill Coal Mine. Which was 0pened in 1882 and shut on 29th May 1897. during the life of the pit, five miners lost their lives.
