Sunbeams

Flowers of the Oak tree.

I have never really looked at these before, they were strewn on the ground on the track where I was walking this afternoon.  There are several species of oak on the farm but I think these are probably from the English oak.

I missed the postman this morning so didn't see what he was wearing today!  Instead there is a photo in the extras of the pheasant who has taken over the top of the garden.  He patrols it by marching up and down morning and evening. I don't think he has a mate unless she has disappeared.

Another extra is of the recently drilled cornfields - planted by direct drill - no ploughing.  It is satisfying seeing the crop looking healthy (at the moment!).
