Overestimated

Classic case of eyes bigger than stomach, or more realistically bigger than bill. We came upon this seagull with a starfish in its mouth. Some other people (who were over six feet away from us) thought he was stuck. But no. After awhile he dropped the starfish. It was just too big to go down. We went on walking so did not see the final outcome of this. We spotted another little fellow slithering along the ground further in our walk. He couldn't have been more than a foot long, a little garter snake. Very cute. He's in the extras. These guys we encountered as we walked along from Fairhaven Taylor Dock to Boulevard Park in Bellingham. We kept an eye out for the River Otters my friend Betsy saw this morning but they were probably shuttering at home as so many creatures do at midday.
