Underneath the arch: One Street#16

The gales continue - my little car was jet propelled into Durrus and soaked by the spray from the sea. White horses gambol in the bay, sea gulls glide and hover and the cats huddle next to the range. I braved a quick trip down to the river again. Still raging but this shows the view from the ford- currently not contemplatible. Before this bridge was built, sometime in the 1840s, you would have crossed above the little weir just viewable. If you biggify you might just be able to make out another smaller ornamental bridge in the distance, as the river heads down to the sea through Mr Norton's garden. I like the way the ivy and ferns have made themselves completely at home amidst the stonework. The street of course goes over the bridge but the best views are down here.

Amazing how pigs make everyone go gooey - only a few had treacherous thoughts (you know who you are!!)
