Rainbow

The start of CyclopsJnr's first summer term.

From home.

As well as a sheet of varied open tasks each day this term we are getting videos from the teachers to learn new concepts, and in a couple of weeks we will have some interactive sessions.

We did some phonics and reading and numeracy. CyclopsJnr seems to have come on a lot with his writing it has clicked into place.

We didn't pick a random word today but we did this little rainbow project which went well. We wrote down the colours of the rainbow on a clipboard and we went out on a little walk to collect a yoghurt pot full of natural things for each of the colours, ticking them off as we went. We tried to collect things that had already fallen from the tree or were due to be cut, where we could. Then we fashioned them into a rainbow! It gave our walk a bit of purpose and CyclopsJnr suggested we could do a different shape / colours another day, so that was great.
