A place to play .

Our bit of land lies about 25m from our house ,which is just peeping over the hedge. It’s of little value as it lies on a disused Victorian rubbish tip and is on the edge of a sandy embankment ( glacial drift) but for us it’s a place where we can play.
It has been neglected for a long time but with time on our hands and sunny weather we have started getting it back into a place where we can plant seeds, listen to the birds and make fires. Despite being in our 4th week of “lock down ,” or maybe because of it ,we have spent some happy evenings sitting in firelight and watching the day fade into night. The accompanying bird song has been exquisite .
I feel so very lucky to have my own bit of open space .
