Collection

My husband re-started collecting stamps in 2000, when he was sorting out our son's collection (which he had lost interest in) and it reminded him how much he enjoyed this pursuit. He now has 90 ring-binder files with stamps in and has become very knowledgeable about a number of countries and their histories in his research. He has managed to put the collection in various parts of our long sitting room (neatly!) and it doesn't seem to have taken over too much.

Was very fed up with my Dad's bank today, who seem to have no provision for severely sight-impaired people to contact them - he can't deal with all the options on the phone. The three different people I spoke to on the phone (they kept passing me to someone else) were unsympathetic and said they couldn't ring him themselves to sort it out (not their policy to be helpful evidently). I was then given an 0845 number for him to ring which would supposedly enable him to contact his local branch. When he rang it, an automated voice (again!) told him that the number was no longer in use and he should ring another number (which again had options so he gave up). A stiff letter is being sent on his behalf. It seems that the provisions for disabled people continue to be very poor. Rant over!
