Tibetan Singing Bowls

On this photo are some of my Tibetan singing bowls, set out for a guided meditation class I presented earlier this month. I added the amethyst crystal to help opening of the crown chakra. The chime bars produced high pitched tones to energise the brain.

Opinion varies as to who originally started to make Tibetan singing bowls, but all evidence points in the direction of the shamanistic tradition.
Several different metals are used in the making of each Tibetan singing bowl, creating rich singing sounds when the bowl is struck, or played by moving a mallet along the rim of the bowl.
I use Tibetan singing bowls, together with other sound tools, in the Integrative Sound Therapy which I practice. The bowls produce specific sound frequencies to address energy imbalances and physical symptoms such as pain, joint stiffness, breathing-related problems, digestive problems, muscular tension, and emotional imbalances such as depression and anxiety. During guided meditation they also facilitate entering the meditative state.
