Flower Friday . . . ANZAC Poppy

Tomorrow 25th April is ANZAC Day, and Anzac biscuits are traditionally baked and eaten for it.  Mine are not nearly as good looking as a friends ones.  She posted a beautiful photo on facebook using a mug decorated with a poppy as the prop.
Anzac Day is a day of remembrance observed in Australia and New Zealand. It falls on the anniversary of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) landing at Gallipoli, in Turkey, 1915. The day was originally observed to honour the soldiers who died in that conflict, but now commemorates and honours all Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women, past and present, who have served and died in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.  It’s a popular myth that they’re called Anzac biscuits because they were shipped to the Anzac soldiers during the war.
Tea and biscuits were consumed during the making of this blip.
P.S Now that I look at the cup the shapes you see are roses on the china.
