two lips

Sat in the back garden of my Mum' trying to photograph a pair of goldfinches but they decided not to show up today.

I did get a spuggy (sparrow) and a blue tit, added as extras; but I thought the tulips were much nicer.

These are the ancestors of the Nescafe tulips that are in my garden.

I'm not very good at photographing birds and things, but I defintely think that my lens is not up to scratch (55mm to 300mm AF-S NIKKOR) and would like the 500mm (but that's around £3.5k), with the 200 - 500mm coming in around £1,200.
