Slightly Sidetracked

I had a plan when I went out looking for Flower Friday subjects.  I knew what flowers I was after and I did get some shots of those, but then I saw these and very nearly got sidetracked.  I know it's only clover blossoms of some variety and that's not very exciting, but, in combination with the visitor, I am intrigued!  I think this may be a Great Black Wasp, which is very beneficial and not aggressive at all.  You can tell me if I'm wrong.  I did try to pick a shot which showed the flowers nicely, since it is Flower Friday and not Intriguing Insect Friday!  Thanks to Biker Bear for hosting.
