Golden heart

Most of the day was spent clearing out the sheds, sorting the contents and putting everything designated as no longer fit for purpose into the skip. Pete and Alex had fun taking out the various rotten parts, ready for the restoration phase.

The warm weather has continued, and spring seems to be rushing on.  Rubus 'Benenden' is just coming into bloom, its five simple white petals encircling a golden heart of anthers and stigmas. The 'Rambling Rector' rose has also started flowering - both are several weeks earlier than  normal.
