Tussock moth caterpiller

Someone pointed out the other day that it was possible to hear these chewing on the oak tree, as well as see the constant deposits dropping to the ground.   These are the vratches which have been chewing my rose bushes, and the manzanita trees, and many other things.

The black pipe is for the drip irrigation system for the pots on the back deck.  

Found hundreds of them on an old wisteria bush this morning. Got out the hose and washed them down .. will see if that helps.
