The plague stops play

"That all plays, bear-baitings, games, singing of ballads, buckler-play, or such-like causes of assemblies of people be utterly prohibited, and the parties offending severely punished by every alderman in his ward."
From:
A Journal of the Plague Year
being Observations or Memorials
of the most remarkable occurrences,
as well public as private, which happened in
London during the last great visitation in 1665.
Daniel Defoe. 1772

Returning to the year 2020, The golf trolleys at the village golf club are meantime furloughed. The course is still open for walkers which is a big, big plus during the lockdown.
