Reassuringly familiar

I love these old ‘wall’ mail boxes. They are dotted around the country, sometimes in the most random places.
Some of the older ones have a ‘hood’ to keep out the rain. This is obviously quite an old one because of the GR cipher. The first UK wall boxes were supposedly erected in 1857 in Shrewsbury and Market Drayton.
This pillar box red is one of the truest ‘red’ colours. Everyone knows what colour ‘pillar box red’ is.
