Nightwish beer

You know your band has achieved some kind of status if it has it's own beer brand. Symphonic metal band Nightwish launched their own limited edition beer back in 2004 when they played a record releasing gig here in Kitee, where they originate from. The beer was a part of a quite elaborate marketing campaign and it was sold in only selective shops (maybe only one shop, if I remember correctly) in Kitee, and the limited amount was sold out rather quickly. So don't expect to find it in any shops :) Update: Ok, the beer wasn't anything special.

The gig was in a local ice hockey arena and it turned our little town upside down - there were people who came from South America to see the gig! You could not get away from Nightwish in downtown Kitee in those couple of days.

The released album, "Once", would become their international breakthrough, but Tarja Turunen, the female vocalist seen here, was later replaced with Swedish singer Anette Olzon... if anyone cares...
