The Old Forge (Sunday 26th April 2020)

There was a large copperbeech tree halfway down the back garden in our home in Sutton Coldfield where I was growing up as a child. I rather did for it by repeatedly peeling off the bark on its trunk.
I planted a sapling by way of making amends in the woodland garden here in the early nineties. It is a slow growing tree and still has a long way to go but gets stronger and leafier each year, and has just recently come into leaf.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Wave Pictures - Pea Green Boat (2014)
On hearing this on Radcliffe and Maconie's show in the morning (it was their Sunday Glove Song feature, in which they play a song featuring the word 'glove', which they highlight with the sound of a klaxon), I thought it must date from the British Beat Boom explosion of the early Sixties, especially as it featured some typical blues harmonica work. Further investigation reveals that Wave Pictures are a group from Leicestershire with a lot of albums under their belt. This song was co-written with Billy Childish and comes from the album Great Big Flamingo Burning Moon.
