Mr isbi is tidying up the rubbish left by the fires and subsequent floods. What boy doesn’t love a fire?

During the process he turned over a piece of wood and found what looked like a couple of unusual insects.
I had my macro lens with me so took a shot (extra) and then nudged it gently to see if would move. Instead it broke apart and on closer inspection it seems to be a whole string of eggs held together on a web but clearly in the shape of a bug, no doubt to deter predators.

The change has arrived with rain and currently a blackout. Luckily plenty of candle lanterns left over from the wedding.
The energy app says it will last till 11:30 pm so looks like an early night.
