More Spuds

I broke from routine today and headed up to the allotment early on to beat the forecast rain. Decided to plant some main-crop spuds (Cara) as they were well chitted. Eleven in this drill, that’s enough what with Nicola and Fir Apples still chitting away in the hut; probably three more drills from those once they’re ready. Have decided not to plant the Roosters (spuds not chickens, to avoid confusion) because they were pretty disappointing last time. We already have a home for them!
Fence repair work followed, then sowed more daikon and more broccoli in the new mini-bed. That’s it full now; strawbs, coriander, daikon, broccoli and endives are packed together cheek by jowl!
