Doesn't meet my expectations!

I planted a number of bulbs in the ground this year and I usually don't have much luck with that.  Here is a great example.  While it makes an interesting photo, up close and personal, in real life it's a dud.  But my daffodils, planted in pots, are a success, so maybe it's just pots for me.
