The Wainwright memorial stone .

Alfred Wainwright lived and worked in Blackburn which , as we have discovered, is a great place from which to visit the Lake District, Snowdonia,, The Yorkshire Dales , The Peak District  and so on ....
This memorial stone adorns the highest point of the hill we walk up each day .
We had great views from our hilltop today and enjoyed big skies with sweeping views.

The arrival of rain meant that I have now started the “Big Sort Out ,” that I promised would happen once retirement began .As people with a lot of interests, a tendency to hoard and an aversion to sending anything to landfill  we have a lot of stuff to go through and “re-home.” Our son-in - law and daughter-in-law are starting to panic as a significant portion of our stuff belongs to our children . What a dilemma ,
Today’s highlight was a phone all from my Neice prompted by the arrival of one of the Bluebells cards I sent . What a treat !
